Our current focus is on erecting a 5-classroom building that will house the Max & Ada Bailor Junior Secondary School in Kagbaray Bomkapr, located in Karene District in the north of Sierra Leone.
Help us meet our $25,000 goal for the 2023/2024 school year!
In 2007, through partnership with the Foursquare Gospel Church in Sierra Leone, Plummer & Lorraine Bailor helped establish the Foursquare Primary School of Kagberay. The goal was to create educational opportunities for children in Kagberay Bomkapr and 17 surrounding villages whose only two educational options were to either walk 7 miles one way to school, or to not go to school at all. Because education was not a priority, families were opting to not send their children to school, or to only send their young boys.
Since then, we have graduated over 300 boys and girls. Sadly, the cycle starts all over again after graduation from primary school because the closest junior secondary school is about a 5 mile walk away. The Max & Ada Bailor Junior Secondary School aims to fill that gap.
The Immediate Need
Ongoing need of $1,000/month for staff salaries
Purchase of school uniforms and supplies
Construction of a well equipped 5-classroom building to house the new school
Construction of three, 2-bedroom staff quarters to attract certified teachers to this remote area
We invite you to partner with us and help us reach our goa Your tax-deductible gifts are greatly appreciated.
